Zweber Insurance opened its fall season hoping to build on the finish from the summer and be a contender for the league title. The softball club was rudely introduced to one-pitch softball, as one of the best teams in Minnesota beat them soundly. The only bright spot was the play of lead-ff hitter, Ryan Thul, who had both a double and a triple.

Zweber Insurance was hoping to rebound off a disappointing first game, and they were able to score some runs with much better offensive fire power. Both Travis Zorn and Eric Thole homered to lead the offensive charge. But defense fell apart in the middle innings and Tiffany Realty was able to take advantage of the mistakes and put the game out of reach.

Zweber Insurance was able to come away with its first victory of the fall, but it wasn't easy. Einsteins fired out of the blocks to put up 7 early runs, but Zweber Insurance was able to stay in the game long enough to explode for 9 runs in the 8th and 9th innings. The victory was sealed by some dramatic outfield defense and Eric Thole's offensive production of two triples, a homerun, and 5 RBI's.

The team was looking to build on its victory earlier in the night, but it wasn't meant to be. Both teams played see-saw softball, with the score being pretty even throughout the contest. But Zweber's bats went cold and weren't able to produce a run in the last 3 innings. Applebee's was able to put up the decisive runs in the 9th inning to come away with the victory. Once again Eric Thole led the offensive show with 2 homers, a triple, and 4 RBI's. Travis Zorn also made some outstanding diving plays in the outfield to keep the game close.

Zweber Insurance appeared to have this game in control in the early innings, as it opened up a 4 run lead. But once again their bats went cold, and a late inning rally by the Thirstie's cost them the game. The game went into extra innings, and a Thirstie's player came off the bench to hit a dramatic 3-run homer to win. The team played a pretty solid game in the field, but didn't stay consistent at the plate in the later part of the game.

The club came out of the blocks early to take a 15-5 lead, and Zweber was able to hang on for the victory. The game was highlighted on defense by Mike Aldrich, who sealed the victory by turning a double play with runners in scoring position, and offensively by the whole line-up.

Zweber started out of the blocks and took an early 7-2 lead, only to see it lost by patient hitting and scoring by Applebee's. The team was able to take the lead in the 7th after scoring 9 runs, sparked by Zorn's and Thole's back-to-back homeruns.
But Applebee's tied it up and then took the lead in the top of the 9th. With the pressure on, Zweber was able to score 3 runs to tie the score, but couldn't quite get the winning run across as the game ended with runners on 1st and 3rd.

In this week's first game, Zweber was looking to avenge a heartbreaking loss a few weeks earlier. The Thirsties were able to throw together a squad of ringers, which took some time to get on track.
But as the Thirsties' bats came alive, Zweber's seemed to go dormant. That, along with a 13 run 8th inning put the knock-out punch on Zweber for the first game of the evening.

In this rematch, the VFW was looking to take one back from Zweber after an earlier loss. The VFW jumped to an early lead, but as they created some controversy concerning the ball being used, they also lit a fire in the belly of Zweber Insurance Softball sleeping giant.
Zweber, spurred on by the offense of Jason Zweber and Travis Zorn, along with the defense of the infield, was able to build a sizeable lead and hold of the VFW for a win.

Zweber Insurance played good defensive softball, but were slow in producing at the plate. The team waited until the final 2 innings to score 7 of their 8 runs.
Document hit 16 home runs in the game, which was beyond the control of the Zweber team, as the teams pitch to themselves. If Zweber Insurance would have had a more consistent offensive output throughout the game, the score may have been a lot closer.

The Zweber Softball Club went into this, the last game of the season, very relaxed and looking to end the season on an easy and high note.
That was not the case, as Heat N Glo stayed in the game and exploded for a 9-run inning which put the pressure back on Zweber. After some questionable defense throughout the earlier innings, solidified in the later innings and key hitting helped propel Zweber Insurance past Heat N Glo and let Zweber Insurance end the season on a high note.
The performances to note in this game were Eric Thole hitting for the cycle and Shane Lutner wiffing big time!!!!
